Pune: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has revised the plan for the food plaza at Chowpatty in Pune’s Saras Baug area. As per the information, the project will now be made for Rs 8 crores.
Food alleys, public gathering spaces, ongoing landscaping projects by trade associations, and exhibitions of diverse artistic creations will be a part of the revised plan. A tender will soon be released for the same. The PMC has also given business licenses to 53 individuals in the Sarasbaug area. It is worthy to note that the encroachment department of the PMC closed 53 stalls here on May 14, 2022, for breaking the rules. Following this, a resolution was required. Following a meeting with the officials, the PMC Commissioner decided to create a food plaza at Sarasbaug Chowpatty to deter encroachment and to make things easier for visitors.
The preliminary calculation committee also gave its approval to the plan created by the PMC building department for this. The updated plan will be unveiled in the upcoming weeks.
