Pune: An incident has come to light wherein the manager of a showroom, Izhar Kazi (30) from Rasta Peth Pune, discovered missing cash during a routine check on Saturday morning.

It is alleged that the accused identified as Pramod Kumar, a security guard from Uttar Pradesh, is the main culprit behind the act. As per information, Kumar was employed at the motorcycle showroom.

According to the police, Kazi managed two showrooms, Shewalewadi and Fatima Nagar. Following standard protocol, cash was collected and handed to the accused, who then passed it to another employee named Suraj Kumar.

Subsequently, Surajkumar submitted the cash to the Fatima Nagar office, where Kazi was stationed. The security guard was working at the showroom for several months and was responsible for safeguarding the property during non-operational hours. However, it is alleged that the accused took advantage of his position and committed the theft.

After the end of business hours on Friday, the suspect was entrusted with submitting all documents and cash from the Shewalewadi office to the Fatima Nagar office. However, the suspect absconded with the cash.

The police have initiated an investigation and are collecting evidence, including reviewing CCTV footage and taking statements from witnesses.

A case has been registered at the Hadapsar police station under section 381 of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation into the matter is on.
