Pune: 19-Year-Old Dies After Being Hit By Speeding Water Tanker On NIBM Road; Driver HeldĀ
Pune, April 5, 2026: A fatal road accident occurred on April 5, 2026, around 5:00 PM near Cloud Nine in the Mohammadwadi area, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old youth.
According to police information, a water tanker (MH43-BG-6210), allegedly driven at high speed by Ravindra Bhimrao Danane (34), rammed into a two-wheeler (TVS Jupiter, MH12QZ5521). The rider, identified as Arif Shaikh (19), sustained critical injuries in the collision.
The injured youth was immediately shifted to Ruby Hospital Wanowrie for medical treatment. However, doctors declared him dead after examination.
Officials from Kalepadal Police Station have taken the accused driver into custody.
Senior Police Inspector Mansing Patil confirmed the incident and stated that further investigation is underway.
