Pune- This incident took place on April 20. A case has been registered against five persons after an investigation, including a coach and a lifeguard, in the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police and the accused have been arrested. The victim was a 21-year-old Kondhwa resident, Sahil Mahendra Uke, and his father filed a complaint after the incident.

The owner of Royal Aquatic Club, Manager Rupesh Rajendra Shirke (34, Mulshi resident), coach Santosh Rajendra Kamble (35, Vadgaon resident), and lifeguard Prasad Satish Dhoke (35, Kasba Peth resident), Aditya Arun Gurav (21), and Sandip Bhimshankar Salgar (21, Bibwewadi resident) have been arrested.

According to the police, Sahil had been taking classes in Swimming pool near Katraj Laketown society for the last three months. On April 20, he ended up drowning to death when he went for a swim. At that moment, the lifeguard, coach, and manager were not present at the spot. All efforts to provide medical assistance to the victim were not sufficient. Therefore, a case was filed against the non-availability of medical aid and the inexcusable negligence shown by the staff. The Bharati Vidyapeeth Police are investigating further into the matter.
