Pune customs seizes 883.1 Kgs Ganja from truck travelling to Solapur from Odisha 

On the basis of specific intelligence that large quantity of Ganja is being trafficked from Odisha to a place near Solapur, in an Eicher truck, a team of officers of pune customs was deployed for interception. 

The truck was stated to be loaded with the poultry remains to be used as manure which was used as a cover consignment as a camouflage. 

On thorough search of the truck, a number of gunny bags stuffed with Ganja packets were found to be hidden within the bags of poultry remains. The Ganja bags were separated from the manure bags and 883.1Kgs of Ganja was seized under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. 

In the illegal market the cost of the seized contraband is to the tune of 2.20 Cr (approx.). One person is arrested in this case.
