Pune: Huge tree fell on Shivarkar road in Fatima Nagar leaving 10 vehicles damaged

A huge Mahogany tree fell on the Shivarkar road today evening leaving several vehicles damaged. The vintage tree fell on both sides of the road on Shivarkar road, on the Tain Square Commercial Complex in Fatima Nagar, Wanowrie. The incident was reported to the Fire Brigade around 6 PM today. 

The incident has led to damage to several vehicles such as two cars, one tempo and seven two wheelers. Fortunately till now there have been no reports of damage to human lives in the incident. 

Rahul Bandal, fire official from Kondhwa Khurd Fire Station informed, “The incident was attended by the Fire personnel with vehicles one each from Kondhwa khurd fire station, B T Kawade road fire station, and one rescue van from Central Fire Brigade. Over 15 fire personnel attended the incident.”  

Earlier, a huge crane installed on the Tain Square Residential complex fell on the compound wall of the society damaging its garden area. With the onset of monsoon, several incidents of tree felling are being reported. It is advised that each one of us remains alert.
