Pune Metro Achieves Record Ridership Of Over 3.6 Million In August 2024
Pune, September 3, 2024 — Pune Metro has set a new ridership record with a total of 36,65,479 passengers choosing metro services in August 2024. This achievement underscores the growing trust and reliance on Pune Metro as a preferred mode of urban transport.
On June 30, 2024, Pune Metro witnessed its highest single-day ridership with 199,437 passengers, generating a revenue of ₹2,415,693. Line 1 (PCMC-District Court) carried 83,426 passengers, while Line 2 (Vanaz-Ramwadi) transported 116,011 passengers. The PCMC Metro Station recorded the highest footfall with 19,919 passengers, followed by PMC (18,079), Shivajinagar (17,046), Pune Railway Station (15,378), and Ramwadi (14,770). Additionally, 51,026 passengers utilized the District Court interchange station.
This recent milestone surpasses the previous records set on August 15, 2023, with 168,012 passengers and August 6, 2023, with 131,027 passengers. The highest ridership for Line 1 was 36,932 on June 16, 2024, while Line 2 saw its peak with 64,378 passengers on June 25, 2024.
Pune Metro continues to attract more commuters with its reliable services and efficient operations. The sale of NCMC Maha Cards and Student Maha Cards has also seen significant growth, with 39,025 and 10,522 cards sold respectively.
