PUNE: In a bid to provide seamless “last mile connectivity” to commuters, an auto-rickshaw feeder service has been initiated at the Civil Court Metro station.

Shravan Hardikar, Managing Director of MahaMetro, inaugurated the auto-rickshaw service, prioritizing functionality over ceremony. The decision to introduce the service was prompted by the expressed demand from metro passengers for such a facility.

Hemant Sonawane, Public Relation Officer of Pune Metro, emphasized that this service aims to bridge the gap between the first and last leg of a passenger’s journey, ensuring convenient travel.

The inaugural event saw the presence of Deputy Regional Transport Officer Sanjeev Bhor, Nitin Pawar, General Secretary of Rickshaw Panchayat, Atul Gadgil (Works) and Vinod Kumar Agarwal (Operations), Directors of Pune Metro, along with Executive Director Dr. Hemant Sonawane (Administration and Public Relations), Deputy General Manager (MMI) Manoj Kumar Daniel, Metro officials, and auto-rickshaw drivers.
