The PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar has instructed Ganesh mandals to celebrate Ganesh festival by not causing inconvenience to others ahead of the 10 day Ganesh festival that starts on September 19.

As per information, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar has stated that Ganesh mandals that are planning to open this year or those who would set up Ganesh pandals at new locations after their previous land was affected due to a civic project have to apply for permission.

The Ganesh mandals must take all necessary steps to avoid inconvenience to local residents, pedestrians and vehicles. They will also have to ensure that there is no noise pollution which would cause problems to the local population.

Ganesh mandals are also required to display the permission letter by the PMC in a place that can be seen from the pandal.

A pandal should not exceed 40 ft in height and organisers who wish to construct larger pandals will need to provide a registered structural engineer certificate of structural stability.

All the Ganesh mandals will need to make arrangements for fire-fighting vehicles, ambulances and public transport buses to pass through the area where pandals and welcome arches are constructed. They should also send security guards as required.

The installation of environment-friendly Ganesh idols should be a priority for all participants in the celebration of the festival. The pandal of the ganesh mandal must be removed within three days of the festival’s conclusion. Additionally, the dug roads for the erection of pandals must be repaired at their own expense.

PMC has also urged citizens to get in touch with the civic administration immediately if any inconvenience is caused by any Ganesh mandal.
