Pune News: 10 Booked in ₹1.21 Crore Stock Market Investment Scam By Police
PUNE: The Nanded City police have booked ten individuals for allegedly duping a 34-year-old man of ₹1.21 crore by luring him into investing in the stock market under false pretenses. The alleged fraud occurred between October 2024 and May 2025, with the First Information Report (FIR) filed on May 21.
The complainant, a resident of Dhayari, approached the police after discovering that his substantial investment was misused by the accused, who promised high returns through stock trading schemes.
According to officials, the suspects have been charged under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 316(2), 316(4), 316(5), 318(3), 318(4), 336(3), 340(2), and 3(5). These sections pertain to various forms of cheating, breach of trust, and criminal conspiracy.
The police are currently investigating the roles of each accused in the operation of the scam, which appears to have been run as a well-coordinated scheme targeting unsuspecting investors.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious while engaging in stock market investments and to verify the authenticity of such schemes before committing funds.
