Pune News: Close Associate Of Rajendra Hagawane Booked For Criminal Intimidation

PUNE: Warje police have booked Nilesh Ramchandra Chavan, a Karvenagar resident and known associate of the Hagawane family, for allegedly threatening members of the Kaspate family. The incident took place on May 19 when the Kaspates visited Chavan’s home to seek custody of their deceased daughter Vaishnavi’s child.
Chavan, who is reportedly a close aide of Rajendra Hagawane—who was caught today morning after being named in an FIR related to the suicide of his daughter-in-law Vaishnavi—is now facing serious charges under Section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 30 of the Arms Act.
Police sources confirmed that Chavan has a prior criminal record, with cases registered against him by his wife under IPC Sections 376(2)(n) (rape), 392 (robbery), and 34 (common intention) at Warje Police Station.
The latest case has intensified scrutiny around those associated with the Hagawane family, which has come under the legal spotlight following the tragic suicide case. Authorities are continuing their investigation into both Chavan’s alleged threats and the larger circumstances surrounding the Hagawane family.
