Pune News: 15-Year-Old Girl Alleges Harassment By Tuition Teacher In Mundhwa (representational image)
The Mundhwa police arrested a 38-year-old tuition teacher on Tuesday night for allegedly sexually harassing a 15-year-old girl student on August 26. The police presented the teacher in front of a special court on Wednesday, which granted a custodial remand until August 29. According to Senior Inspector Nilkant Jagtap from the Mundhwa police, the girl is a 10th-grade student at a local school.
She had started attending the teacher’s tuition classes in June to study various subjects in preparation for her SSC examination. Jagtap mentioned that in her complaint, the girl stated that the teacher asked her to stay back in the class after the other students left, claiming it was for a written test.
The girl reported that the teacher made inappropriate comments that made her feel uncomfortable and also touched her inappropriately. As a result, a police complaint was filed for offenses related to violating her modesty, using criminal force, and sexual assault/harassment. This case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso).
