Pune News : FDA seizes tobacco products worth Rs 6.5 Lakh, Read to know more

Pune: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confiscated tobacco products worth Rs 6,49,020 in the Borhadewadi and Moshi areas. The vehicles involved in this incident have also been seized.

As per the information provided, Vimal Panmasala, RMD Pan masala, V1 aromatic tobacco, and M aromatic tobacco, were confiscated from the vehicle having registration number MH 14 HU 2042. A legal case has been filed against the offender, Harakchand Sunde, at the Moshi police station located in Bhosari Industrial Colony.

On July 18, 2023, the state issued an order to ban the production, storage, distribution, and selling of tobacco products such as gutkha, pan masala, aromatic tobacco, and aromatic betel nut for a year, citing public interest and health.

Joint Commissioner (Food) Suresh Annapure encourages citizens to report any information regarding the illegal sale of prohibited items such as gutkha and pan masala to the administration’s toll-free number 1800222365.
