Pune News : Gang of burglars targeting elite societies busted, Pune police recover Rs 1.21 crore worth valuables

Pune: Pune police arrested a man who targeted elite societies in metro cities across India. He was wanted in a robbery case reported in Sindh Society in Baner recently.

According to the police, a complainant from Sindh Housing Society, reported a robbery case on 10 February in which he had lost three imported luxury watches, one foreign made pistol, golden chain and Rs 2 lakh cash.

During investigation, police made three separate teams who analysed more than 200 CCTV footages. During investigation police tracked a movement of the high end car used in the robbery and arrested Mohamad Irfan, Sunil Yadav, Punit Yadav, Rajesh Yadav all from Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh and his colleagues.

DCP (Crime) Amol Zende said, “He is known as Robin Hood in Uttar Pradesh. Every time he uses google to find lavish housing societies in the city. Recently he conducted robberies in Visakhapatnam, Chennai and Delhi.’’

Additional commissioner of police (crime) Ramnath Pokale said, “He always uses posh cars like Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar so that he can easily get access into the lavish societies. He is also known for his charity and popular among his region.’’

Pune police have recovered 10 imported watches (3 of them were stolen from Pune and remaining were stolen from Visakhapatnam), Jaguar Car and other valuable items worth Rs 1.21 crore and arrested for further interrogation, said police.
