Pune News: Large Branch of Dead Tree Poses Risk to People in Kondhwa

Pune: A huge branch of a huge tree on the road divider near Mata Ramabai Ambedkar Agnishaman Kendra (Fire Station) in Kondhwa Budruk is posing risks for the people as it could fall anytime leading to a sense of fear among the commuters and residents of nearby societies.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Javed Shaikh, daily commuter & resident of R Euphoria, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The tree is here for a long time. It is completely lifeless, so a huge branch of the tree is bent in such a way that it could potentially fall anytime, risking people’s lives.”

Mohammed Sayyed, a daily commuter & resident of R Euphoria, Kondhwa Budruk said, “A huge branch of a huge tree on the divider of Pune-Saswad road has become a nightmare for commuting on the road as it can fall anytime, risking people’s lives & may pose severe damage to vehicles etc.”

Latif Kalekar,  a daily commuter & resident of R Euphoria, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The big tree on the Pune-Saswad road divider is lifeless. It can fall at any time. It feels very dangerous to travel on that road. Hence, the PMC must cut this tree immediately.”

Mushtaq Ahmed, a daily commuter and resident of HM Royal, Kondhwa Budruk said,  ” Since a long time, the tree branch is bent in a very dangerous manner. If not removed quickly, it could kill someone or damage vehicles etc.”

Rehan Shaikh, a daily commuter & resident of R Euphoria, Kondhwa Budruk said, “The tree is there on the road divider for several years but it has been bent in such a position for some months. We have raised complaints to the PMC but nothing has been done about it.”

Alamgir Jamadar, Head, of Kondhwa Budruk Association, Pune said, “Daily more than 10,000 vehicles pass through the Pune-Saswad main road. A dilapidated tree adjacent to the divider in front of Mata Ramabai Ambedkar fire station can break and fall on the road at any time. As it has been dead for a long time. It can fall anytime and cause the death of commuters on the road. We have raised complaints to the PMC since June 15 but nothing is done about it.”

Vijay Nevse, Tree Cutter, PMC Tree Authority Department said,  ” We have come & inspected the condition of the tree. We will cut it entirely in 2 days.”
