The residents of Kharadi, Keshav Nagar, Mundhwa worry as they have to face huge traffic blockade daily from Jagdevi Park to Mundhwa Chowk.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Ranjeet Lonkar, President, Keshav Nagar Welfare Association Mundhwa, Pune, said “Mundhwa is constantly gripped by traffic blockades & jams. This time, traffic situation intensified from Jagdevi Park till Mundhwa Chowk as traffic lines & queues which were 2 to 3 km long. Hence, it is high time now that a flyover must be provided here.”

Mehzabin Sayyed from Kharadi informed that the entire stretch from Jagdevi Park till Mundhwa Chowk was blocked. It took around 49 mins to cross the chowk. It’s high time to have a flyover. It is so difficult for daily commuters, office goers and emergency travelers to cross this road daily.

Sandeep Lonkar, Secretary, BJP Party Pune, said “I enquired about this to the PMC. An officer told me that the wall work of an 18-inch water line, connecting the main water pipeline of the city, was going on. It has been completed now. Only the tarring work is remaining now which would be completed soon. However, the huge traffic problem is not only from now. Daily, vehicles from Kharadi side, Hadapsar side, Keshav Nagar etc keep commuting from this side as there is no flyover.”

However, constant works of road repair, encroachment etc keep going on here. Still, we have asked for more manpower & appoint more traffic wardens for more effective traffic management.”
