Pune News: One Year Of PMC Neglect: Pisoli’s Casa Mia Cut Off As Roads Crumble, Services Collapse
Pune, May 24, 2025 – Despite repeated appeals and official visits, residents of Pisoli’s Casa Mia area remain trapped in worsening conditions as all access roads to the locality have been left broken, blocked, or incomplete for over a year. With the drainage pipeline project stalled and no sign of road repairs, the upcoming school reopening has sparked renewed anger among locals.
The area, home to over 3,000 residents, three schools, two junior colleges, sports academies, nearly 20 businesses, and multiple housing societies, is now in a state of complete isolation. The sole remaining passage is riddled with potholes, loose gravel, and open drains, worsened further by the monsoon showers.
Emergency services have been severely affected. Auto-rickshaws, app-based cabs, courier agents, and even water tankers now refuse to enter the area. Ambulances and fire trucks often turn back, posing life-threatening risks. Garbage collection has come to a halt, causing hygiene concerns and the spread of disease.
Residents allege that local goons, a contractor-politician nexus, have hampered progress. Each stakeholder — from engineers to corporators — continues to shift blame, residents claim.
With the Nala overbridge lying incomplete and all three approach routes either dug up or illegally blocked, Casa Mia has become a symbol of administrative apathy. Despite multiple visits by PMC officials and elected representatives, no tangible action has followed.
Parents fear for their children’s safety, businesses are nearing shutdown, and the community is demanding immediate intervention from senior civic authorities. The question remains: how much longer will Pisoli be left to suffer in silence?
