Rama Latpate is all set to make history. In an attempt to spread Maharashtrian and Indian culture, she has taken up a daring initiative of travelling the whole world on a motorbike while wearing Navari sarees.

Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s G20 speech about women’s empowerment, Ramabai wanted to propagate India’s cultural diversity by showcasing made-in-India products on a global level. She added her own creative insight to follow this pursuit in a unique manner on a motorbike, in Navari (nine yard) sarees.

With 52 countries to visit and 29 locations to present the products, the venture begins on 9 March 2023 from Gateway of India and ends on 8 March 2024 which is International Women’s Day. She plans on giving out samples of made-in-India products as a token of love from the people of India which will set up a base for a strong global testimonial. The bike will be airlifted to countries not connected with land, and Sydney will be the first city where she and her team will make their mark.

When asked if she had anything to say to the women of India, her words were, “Women are creators and therefore already empowered. Graceful Indian women are what makes India what it is.” With such uplifting Indian women taking such innovative measures, this International Women’s Day is a monumental one for all of us.
