Pune : PMC’s 42nd Fruits, Flower, Vegetables Exhibition and Competition inaugurated today

On the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), the 42nd Fruits, Flowers and Vegetables Exhibition along with the Garden and Tree conservation competition was held today on Saturday 10 February 2024 at Sambhaji Raje Park, Jungli Maharaj Road, Shivajinagar, Pune.

The opening of the exhibition was held by by Vikram Kumar, commissioner, of Pune Municipal Corporation. Ashok Ghorpade. Ashok Ghorpade, Chief Park Suprident and Member society, Santosh Kumar Kamble, Executive Engineer Parks Department,  Sandeep Kale, Shilpa Bhosle along with officials and employees of the Park Department were present.  

The exhibition is free of cost and will have stalls selling flowers, fruits, seeds gardening materials, seeds and fertilizers from 8:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
This exhibition will also have Bonsai, wood sculpture, feature Gargen, paper crafts, different types of floral arrangements, etc. The concept of planting the Vasundhara tree, saving free and maximum use of bicycles will also be promoted in this exhibition.
Different types of Dahlia, Orchid, Gerbera rose, Carnation, seasonal as well as perennial flowers are the main attractions of this exhibition.
The prize distribution ceremony of the winners who participated in various competitions will be held tomorrow, Sunday, 11th February 2024
This exhibition is being initiated by the Pune Municipal Corporation to raise awareness about the importance of trees and plants in human life and is expected to have a plethora of visitors.
