Pune Collector Suhas Diwase reviews EVM’s security at FCI Warehouse in Koregaon Park

On Saturday, 10th February 2024, Pune District Collector Dr Suhas Diwase visited the Food Corporation Of India Warehouse at Koregaon Park and reviewed the EVM security.

The occasion was highlighted by the presence of Joint Commissioner of Police Praveen Pawar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Smartana Patil, Additional Collector of Maharashtra State Agriculture Corporation Rupali Awale, Deputy District election Officer Meenal Kalaskar, Deputy Divisional Officer Sanjay Aswale, Pune City Tehsildar, Suryakant Yewale, Sneha Kiswe-Devkate, Madhusdan Barge, etc.

During this, Dr Diwase took information about CCTV, electricity, fire prevention measures, various types of registers, and Inspection of Polling stations.

Polling Stations which were inspected were Sant Gadge Maharaj High School at Koregaon Park and Saint Meera Girls High School at Sadhu Vaswani Chowk under Pune Cantonment Vidhan Sabha constituency.

“Keeping in mind the importance of the upcoming general elections, all the relevant systems should work in coordination. The standards given by the Election Commission of India regarding EVM should be strictly followed. Standards should be distributed in the Marathi language and distributed to all concerned. Conduct joint training of revenue and police administration regarding EVM security.” said Dr Diwase. 

Moreover, strict rules such as every visitor to the go down should be noted in the register, necessary facilities to be made available to the security guards, the number of security guards to be increased as per requirement and all necessary measures should be taken regarding the safety of the go down were implemented.

These necessary precautions and inspection by Dr Suhas Diwase will create a sense of security and trust among the people residing in Koregaon Park.
