Pune Police Crack Down On Cryptocurrency Theft With Share Trading Coach, Five ApprehendedĀ

In a swift operation, the Pune city police have arrested five individuals accused of abducting a 26-year-old share trading coach and stealing cryptocurrency worth Rs 16 lakh from him at knifepoint last month. The accused, identified as Mayur Kailas Amodkar, Manish Rajendra Bhonde, Bhushan Gokul Koli, Jitendra Pradip Wagh, and Chandrakant Ramesh Deshmukh, all residents of Jalgaon, were apprehended this week following an investigation led by Sub-Inspector Pranil Chougule.

According to the police, the accused approached the coach on July 22, seeking guidance on investing in shares. They then abducted him, took him to Shikrapur, and threatened to kill him with a knife. The accused allegedly snatched the coach’s mobile phone and transferred his USDT cryptocurrency worth Rs 16,02,510 to their account using a mobile app.

The police have recovered the stolen cryptocurrency worth Rs 7.94 lakh and seized the car and knife used in the crime. The accused are currently under magisterial custody, as per court orders.
