Pune : Police sub-inspector suspended in Lalit Kala Kendra case

A police sub-inspector who was on duty during the incident of vandalism in the premises of Lalit Kala Kendra of Savitribai Phule Pune University has been suspended for negligence. In this regard, Additional Commissioner of Pune Police Ranjan Kumar Sharma has ordered the suspension.

The suspended sub-inspector of police has been identified as Sachin Shankar Gadekar. Gadekar is posted at Chatushrungi Police Station. Workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and BJP Yuva Morcha created chaos in the premises of Lalit Kala Kendra on Saturday evening.

Also, they vandalized the window panes and pots of the Fine Arts Center and threw ink on the board. This time, Sachin Gadekar, Sub-Inspector of Police, did not take proper notice of the incident. Also, the control room along with Senior Police Inspector, Khadki, Assistant Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police were not immediately informed about this.

So, the senior officers did not get the information about this on time. They were blamed for tarnishing the image of the police force due to such irresponsible behavior. Taking a serious note of this incident, Additional Commissioner Ranjan Kumar Sharma ordered the suspension of Sub-Inspector Gadekar.
