Pune railway station introduces digital access map and UPI-based payments for enhanced passenger experience
In a move to modernize and streamline the travel experience, Pune Division has introduced a Digital Access Map at Pune Railway Station, marking a significant step forward in enhancing passenger convenience. The announcement was made via an X (formerly Twitter) post by DRM Pune (@drmpune), which highlighted the benefits of the new feature:
“Pune Division introduces a Digital Access Map at Pune Railway Station! Revolutionizing passenger experience — now navigate the station with ease, find amenities effortlessly, and enjoy a smoother journey.”
The Digital Access Map is designed to revolutionize the way passengers navigate the bustling Pune Railway Station. With this new tool, travelers can easily find their way around the station, locate amenities effortlessly, and enjoy a smoother journey overall. This initiative is part of a broader effort by Pune Division to integrate smart technology into the daily operations of the railway station, ensuring that passengers have access to real-time information and an improved travel experience.
The introduction of the Digital Access Map is expected to significantly reduce the confusion and stress often associated with navigating large and busy railway stations. Whether it’s finding the nearest restroom, locating a food court, or identifying the correct platform, passengers will now have all the information they need at their fingertips.
In addition to the Digital Access Map, Pune Division has also implemented UPI-based QR code payments at all ticket counters. This new feature is set to make ticket booking faster and more convenient for passengers, allowing for cashless transactions that reduce queuing times. With the integration of UPI payments, passengers can now simply scan the QR code at the counter and complete their purchase within seconds, bypassing the need for cash and minimizing the hassle of waiting in long lines.
These initiatives are part of Pune Division’s ongoing commitment to improving the overall passenger experience. By embracing digital tools and cashless payment methods, the railway station is not only keeping up with the times but also setting a new standard for convenience and efficiency in public transportation.
