Last month, residents of Rohan Abhilasha Phase 2 in Wagholi submitted a letter to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Commissioner highlighting urgent concerns about local infrastructure. Sent on July 8, 2024, the letter calls for immediate action to address deteriorating road conditions, inadequate street lighting, and a lack of municipal water supply.
Representing the residents, Pratik Patil, Chairman of Rohan Abhilasha-2 CHSL, emphasized that the society, which was completed in July 2023, has already paid property taxes for 2023-24 and 2024-25 but still lacks essential services. The letter notes that the road linking Rohan Abhilasha Township Road to Diamond Water Park Road is in poor condition, creating hazards for residents, including children, elderly individuals, and motorcyclists.

The absence of street lighting further exacerbates safety concerns, making evening and night travel perilous. Additionally, the community’s reliance on unreliable water sources due to the lack of municipal supply is placing extra strain on daily life.
The society, comprising over 200 apartments and situated near ‘Mount St. Patrick Academy’ and ‘Vikhe Patil Memorial School,’ is deeply concerned about the risks posed to residents and students. The letter requests the PMC to:
- 1. Repair and maintain the roads leading to Diamond Water Park Road.
- 2. Install street lights to enhance safety.
- 3. Provide a dependable municipal water supply.
The residents urge the PMC to address these issues promptly to improve the safety and quality of life in their community.
