In preparation for the upcoming festivals of Shri Ganeshotsav and Eid-e-Milad, the Special Inspector General of Police, Kolhapur Zone, Kolhapur, conducted a law and order review meeting with the Pune Rural District Police Unit.

To ensure law and order during Ganeshotsav-2024 and Eid-e-Milad, a review meeting was held on August 26, 2024, under the chairmanship of the Special Inspector General of Police, Kolhapur Zone. During the meeting, the Special Inspector General reviewed the plans set by the Pune Rural District Police Unit for the peaceful celebration of these festivals. Emphasis was placed on implementing effective preventive measures against criminals booked for the festivals. Meetings were held with Ganesh Mandals and Eid-e-Milad organizers, and peace committees convened to provide suggestions. Additionally, instructions were given to implement riot control plans, conduct route marches in sensitive areas, and ensure vigilance to prevent communal tensions. Advice on preventing crimes against women was also discussed, including visiting schools and colleges and taking immediate legal action against inappropriate incidents.

The meeting also covered preparations for the upcoming Assembly Election 2024, focusing on conducting the polling process transparently and fairly while maintaining law and order. It was instructed to monitor social media and take legal action against individuals posting inappropriate messages. Proper precautions and vigilance were emphasized.

The Pune Rural District Police Force was commended for successfully curbing robbery crimes and was instructed to solve as many cases as possible by controlling other crimes.

Overall, the Pune Rural Police Force is fully prepared to maintain law and order during the celebrations of Ganeshotsav and Eid-e-Milad and the upcoming Assembly Election 2024. During the meeting, the Superintendent of Police, Pune Rural, informed the Special Inspector General of Police, Kolhapur Zone, about the preparations. Various officers, including the Additional Superintendent of Police, Pune Division, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Haveli Sub-Division, and officers in charge of various branches like the District Special Branch, Local Crime Branch, Welfare Branch, Wireless Message Division, Motor Transport Division, Traffic Branch, Office Superintendent, and Raponi, were present.
