Pune : Supriya Sule urges raises concerns of house repairs within NDA vicinity

In a critical conversation that took place recently in Delhi, NCP MP Supriya Sule and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh discussed the urgent problem of house repairs within 100 meters of the National Defence Academy (NDA) area. Sule argued in favour of permitting building and maintenance within this distance, highlighting the necessity of working together to allay the worries of impacted citizens.

As per further information from the X handle of Supriya Sule “Met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh regarding the 100-meter distance condition regarding the repair of houses in the NDA area of ​​his Baramati Lok Sabha constituency. 

The Ministry of Defence has decided to construct an airport in the premises of National Defence Agency (NDA) in 2017. Due to this, the citizens of Kondhwe Dhavade, Shivane, Kopare, Uttamnagar, Kudje, Kirkatwadi and Khadakwasla in Prabodhini’s premises have to obtain a no-objection certificate from the Defence Department (Air Force) for house repairs or construction. But the files of works within 100 meters from the protection wall of ‘NDA’ have not been sent by ‘NDA’ since 2019. As per the circular dated 25 October 2016, this condition of distance is applicable to constructions within 10 meters area. Even the Supreme Court has accepted the circular of 2016 and ruled that the 10-meter condition is valid. But still NDA is stuck on the condition of 100 meters. It is a matter of special mention that the lands of the citizens of the above-mentioned villages have been acquired during the establishment of National Defence Prabodhini. The sacrifice of the citizens of this village is great. Keeping that in mind, the circular of 2016 validated by the Supreme Court should be accepted and constructions and repairs within 100 meters should be allowed.”

The tweet further continues “Along with this, the roads connecting the villages of Ahire village, Mokarwadi, Sonarwadi, Wanjalewadi and Khadewadi have been damaged. Citizens have to suffer a lot while traveling on these roads. This situation gets worse especially during monsoons. These roads come under the jurisdiction of National Defence Academy (NDA). So even though funds are available at various levels to repair this road, it cannot be done just because of the lack of special permissions. Rajnath Singh was requested to cooperate in repairing these roads.”
