Pune Traffic Police Implements Route Changes To Ease Congestion At Golibar Maidan

Pune: On the occasion of Muharram, several processions will be held in Pune city on July 17, 2024. To ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion, the Pune City Traffic Branch, has issued a detailed traffic advisory. 

Procession Leaving from Imambada at 10:30 AM: 

The procession will begin at Imamwada and proceed through Lashkar, Agakhan Compound, Rahim Petrol Pump, Nehru Memorial Chowk, Police Commissioner Office, General Post Office Chowk, Sadhu Vaswani Chowk, Connaught Road, Agakhan Compound, returning to Imamwada for immersion

Patil Estate Galli No. 10, procession at 2:00 PM.

This procession will start from the Marg Silk Department and Dudh Dairy, arriving at Patil Estate, and return to the original location. The procession will culminate with immersion at Sangam Bridge at Patil Estate Galli No. 10

The main procession will begin at 3:00 PM from Srinath Talkies and follow this route: 

Srinath Talkies, Dutt Mandir, Belbagh Chowk, Budhwar Chowk, Jijamata Chowk, Shaniwarwada, Futka Buruj, Gadgil Putla Chowk, Dengle Bridge, Gadital Chowk, RTO Chowk, ending at Sangam Bridge immersion site.

The Lashkar Procession at 12:00 PM. 

This procession will gather at Tabut Panje and proceed through: Batliwala Baghi, Sarbatwala Chowk, Babajan Darga, Bhogale Chowk, Gawksab Masjid, M.G. Road, Kohinoor Chowk, Bhagwan Mahaveer Chowk, Naz Hotel Chowk, Buti Street, Batliwala Baghi Chowk, Nehru Memorial Hall, Rahim Petrol Pump, Juna Samarth Police Station, Power House, K.E.M. Hospital, Apollo Talkies Chowk, Daruwala Bridge, Phadke Houd Chowk, Balun Moti Chowk, Sonya Maruti Chowk, Vijay Maruti Chowk, and Belbagh Chowk. This procession will join the main procession at Belbagh Chowk.

Procession from Khadki Area at 6:45 PM. 

The procession will move from Bopodi Chowk along Mumbai Pune Road to Dapodi River for immersion.

Traffic on the mentioned routes will be closed or diverted for short periods as needed and will be restored as the processions move. Motorists are advised to avoid these routes at the specified times and use alternate routes to ensure smooth traffic flow.
