Pune Traffic Police appeals to raise traffic related complains on its WhatsApp number

In order to encourage community involvement in swiftly reporting traffic-related rules that are being flagrantly broken, the Pune Traffic Police has advised residents to save the number and distribute it to forums and groups in their area.

A Pune Traffic Police officer said that prior to now, calls about traffic complaints were being received on the Commissioner of Pune Police’s WhatsApp number, which was intended for non-traffic-related matters. Those complaints about traffic were then forwarded to the traffic police for which they took appropriate action. By starting an integrated WhatsApp number, the traffic police have started to get complaints about signal jumping and other rule violations, along with pictures.

Earlier in January 2024, to encourage more citizens to help ensure road safety and uphold traffic discipline, the Pune Traffic Police recently announced the creation of a new WhatsApp number which is +91 80872 40400 –

In order to report traffic-related incidents and violations quickly and conveniently, citizens are encouraged to store the recently introduced number in their contacts. The initiative’s goal is to maximize community involvement’s potential to uphold traffic safety standards and promote a culture of rule-following.

Hence, the Pune Traffic Police have encouraged citizens to keep sending traffic-related complaints on the WhatsApp number for fast-tracked inspection & resolution by the Traffic Police.
