An unauthorized hoarding that was installed behind the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Police Chowki at Tilak Chowk was taken down on Thursday by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

The Kasba VishramBaug wada Ward Office of the PMC was instructed to remove the hoarding, but they did not take action on this. The hoarding was eventually discovered to be on PMC-owned property, despite the civic officials’ claims that it was situated on private land. As a result, three officials of the PMC Kasba VishramBaugwada Ward Office have been suspended by the civic administration for failing to remove the unauthorized hoarding.

Recently, the PMC additional municipal commissioner issued an order to take down the unauthorized hoarding and submit the action report.

A senior PMC official said that on Thursday, PMC removed the illegal hoarding as instructed by the PMC’s additional municipal commissioner.

On Thursday morning, the PMC Encroachment Department took quick action, sending cranes to raze the unauthorized hoardings. The group of officers and encroachment department employees made sure that the hoarding removal procedure went smoothly and emphasized the importance of maintaining public safety.
