Four students from an engineering college in Charholi and two other people were arrested by police on Wednesday night for causing a disturbance and frightening others by wielding a machete on the college grounds. This occurred following a fight they had with another college student over a small matter. On social media on Thursday, a video of the encounter went viral, featuring a suspect brandishing a machete.

According to officials, the incident happened on the DY Patil Engineering College campus in Charholi. On Thursday, the Dighi police station recorded a First Information Report (FIR) in the case.

An officer at Dighi police station informed that the investigation implies that 2 third-year engineering students had a tussle over a very small issue on Tuesday. The following day, one of the two students came to campus with three additional students of the college and 2 external youths. They caused a disturbance when one of them threatened other pupils with a sharp object. Additionally, the group beat up a few of the pupils.

The incharge of Dighi Police Station, Vijay Dhamal, informed that the police have booked a total of 6 individuals, wherein 4 are from third-year engineering and 2 are externals. They have been charged under provisions of the Arms acts and also for rioting and terrorising other students. He added that the investigation is still ongoing.
