Team Wagholi Against Corruption Organization (WACO) has warned of a massive agitation/protest if the development works are not taken up by the Pune Municipal Corporation in Wagholi.

As per further information from Anil Kumar Mishra, Founder & President, Team WACO, Under the leadership of Team WACO, from December 2022 to July 2023, residents of Wagholi have conducted four movements for the development of Wagholi, focusing on ‘Water Supply,’ ‘Development of DP (bypass) roads,’ ‘Drainage systems,’ and ‘Waste management.’ After the fourth movement (from 20 to 24 July 2023), during an all-inclusive meeting on July 27, 2023, the PMC Commissioner (Mr. Vikram Kumar) acknowledged in front of several assistants/additional commissioners and dignitaries (including the Mayor of Pune, several corporators, etc.) that work on water supply, road development, waste services, and drainage systems in Wagholi would indeed commence from September.

However, no work (apart from concrete work for Wagholi Bus Stop) has started on the ground. Instead, the PMC has begun sending property tax demand notices (bills from previous years) to all property owners in Wagholi, which is entirely unreasonable and illegal.

Wagholikars can no longer tolerate the injustice of either non-existent or nearly negligible services, and they cannot accept the demand notice for unreasonable property tax in any way because it is entirely unjust.

Despite all efforts and movements, if the PMC does not take the issue of comprehensive development of Wagholi seriously, the day is not far when residents of Wagholi will be compelled to besiege the PMC office in huge numbers.
