Pune: Water Supply to Remain Suspended in Several Parts of City on June 4
Pune, June 1, 2026: Residents across several parts of Pune should prepare for a day-long water supply disruption on Thursday, June 4, as the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) undertakes critical pipeline connection work at the Gokhalenagar MAPCO tank.
The PMC Water Supply Department has announced that water supply from both the Gokhalenagar MAPCO and Chatushrungi water tanks will remain completely suspended throughout the day. In addition, citizens may experience delayed and low-pressure water supply on the morning of Friday, June 5.
According to PMC officials, the shutdown is necessary to carry out the connection of a major water supply pipeline, a key part of efforts to strengthen the city’s water distribution network and improve future supply management.
Areas Affected Under Gokhalenagar Tank
Water supply will remain unavailable in Gokhalenagar, Aundh, Bopodi, Pune University area, Law College Road, Bhamburda, BMCC Road, Bhosalenagar, Senapati Bapat Road, Bhandarkar Road, Prabhat Road, Paud Road, Sheela Vihar Colony, Vedanta Nagari, Kulashree Colony, Sahwas Society, Kshipra Society, Vitthal Mandir area, Gosavi Vasti, Karishma Society vicinity, Mayur Colony, Karve Road, Nal Stop, Sahakar Nagar, Bharatnagar, Bharatkunj, Swapnamandir, Mangeshkar Hospital area, Vakil Nagar and nearby localities.
Areas Affected Under Chatushrungi Tank
Residents in Aundh, Bopodi, Bhoite Vasti, Pune University campus, Chikhalwadi, Khadki, Anand Park, Sanewadi, Ambedkar Colony, Sankalp Park, Sakal Nagar, Chavan Nagar, Abhimanshree Society, National Society, Sindh Society, Aundhgaon and surrounding areas will also be affected by the water shutdown.
PMC has appealed to residents to store adequate water in advance and use it judiciously during the shutdown period. Citizens have also been requested to cooperate with the civic administration while the maintenance and pipeline connection work is carried out.
Officials said the project is expected to enhance the efficiency of Pune’s water distribution system and ensure better water management for residents in the long term.
