The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune has recorded 15.2°C temperature in Shivajinagar area at 5:30 am on 8 February (Thursday).

As per further information from IMD Pune today, at 5:30 am, temperature is 0.9°C less than yesterday. But further fall is prevented due to presence of some high clouds. This has happened in past few days & will happen in the coming days. Clouds will increase from around 10th February onwards. Even very light rain may come over isolated regions of Maharashtra (excluding Konkan) during the period. The amount of rain could be more in Vidarbha region.

As per further information from the X handle of Dr Anupam Kashyapi, Head, Weather Forecasting Division, IMD Pune, following are the weather predictions in Pashan, Lohegaon, Chinchwad, Lavale, Magarpatta, NDA, Koregaon Park & entire Pune from 7th February to 13th February:

·         8th February – Clear sky, haze in morning hours

·         9th February – Mainly clear sky, haze in morning hours

·         10th February – Mainly clear sky/time to time partly cloudy sky

·         11th February – Mainly clear sky/time to time partly cloudy sky

·         12th February – Mainly clear sky/time to time partly cloudy sky

·         13th February – Mainly clear sky/time to time partly cloudy sky

Why temperature has gone up??

As predicted by IMD Pune, a trough from east Vidarbha to North/South Interior Karnataka is almost continuously causing moisture incursion over parts of central Maharashtra. So, cold northerly winds are unable to penetrate into parts of Maharashtra resulting in high day temperatures as well as high night temperatures. Currently, some drop is likely in minimum temperatures, during the next 36 hours, while the temperature could rise again from February 9. This is because moisture incursion due to winds coming from southern peninsula, which may interact with northerly winds over parts of central India including some parts of Maharashtra in coming days, resulting in chances of isolated to scattered rain over Vidarbha, Marathwada & Madhya Maharashtra.
