Samarth Hegde from Wakad Wins Gold and silver Medal in International Karate Championship

Pune: Samarth Hegde from Wakad, Pimpri Chinchwad recently bagged gold and silver medals respectively in the Open International Karate Championship held in Delhi.

As per information, Indian Karate Federation organized the championship from August 4 to August 6 at Talkatora Stadium in New Delhi. Players from various states of India as well as from the international level like Nepal, Japan etc participated in this tournament.

In this competition, Samarth Hegde, a resident of Silver Orchards Society, Wakad, won gold and silver medals in Kumite and Kata respectively. He got valuable guidance from his coaches Tej Pratap Singh and Ashok Vetal and his father Laxmish Hegde and his mother Vidya Hegde.

Earlier, Hegde had won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in the state-level karate competition conducted by the Sports Karate Association of Maharashtra in May. After that, his performance in this international competition has become a proud moment for Maharashtra. Appreciation is showering on Samarth from all levels.
