On 27th January, media persons & members of Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh (Pune Union of Working Journalists) Dnyaneshwar Choutmal & Nikhil Karandikar were jostled, pushed & heckled by Pune Police officials during news coverage of a protest in Gokhalenagar.

As per further information from the X handle of Pune Shramik Patrakar Sangh “Journalists covering the protest of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Gokhalenagar were abused by the Pune police by seizing their cameras and mobile phones. An editor of Marathi Daily Newspaper Samrat Phadnis has voiced his frustrations on X “The police misbehaved with a journalist who was covering the Congress agitation in Pune. The police have no right to push the journalist in such a manner and to seize the camera. I Strongly condemn this.”
