Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly was involved in a minor car accident on Thursday near Dantanpur on the Durgapur Expressway while traveling to Bardhaman for an event. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.

According to reports, Ganguly’s Range Rover was moving at a normal speed when a lorry suddenly attempted to cut into his convoy. This caused the vehicles to lose control, leading to a minor collision. Ganguly’s driver applied the brakes immediately to stabilize the situation, but the sudden halt resulted in the car behind him bumping into his vehicle.

Since the vehicles were not traveling at high speeds, the impact was minimal, and only two cars in the convoy sustained minor damage. Following the accident, Ganguly’s convoy halted for about 10 minutes before resuming the journey once the situation was under control.

Upon reaching Bardhaman, Ganguly attended a program at Bardhaman University, followed by another event organized by the Bardhaman Sports Association. Speaking at the event, he expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am overwhelmed. It feels great to be in Burdwan. I am even happier that you invited me. BDS (Burdwan Sports Association) had been asking me to come for a long time. It feels great to be here today. CAB has been working with the Burdwan sports organization for 50 years. Many players have emerged from the district, and we must continue recruiting talent from here in the future as well.”

Despite the minor mishap, Ganguly proceeded with his scheduled engagements without any disruptions.
