Pune: In the presence of Ajit Pawar, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister of Pune, a meeting was organized with the distribution officers of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) at the Government Rest House to discuss various schemes and issues of electricity supply in Pune district and city.

As per further information, Pawar directed that the works of power transmission channels should be speeded up and a plan should be prepared for the sub-stations under the revised distribution area plan by 2030 keeping in mind the demand for local electricity.

Sunil Tingre, MLA, Dr Rajesh Deshmukh, Pune District Collector, Ramesh Chavan, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Vikas Dhakane, Additional Municipal Commissioner of PMC, Rajendra Pawar, Chief Engineer of Pune Circle, Sunil Pavde, Chief Engineer of Baramati Circle, Yuvraj Jarag, Superintending Engineer, Arvind Bulbule etc were present.

Pawar reviewed the Jejuri – Hinjewadi (Phase-3) 400 KV distribution channel, 220 KV Urse to Chinchwad channel, 220 KV Khed City and 220 KV Chinchwad to Hinjewadi channel as well as Pune GIS Power Grid Multi Circuit Talegaon channel. Pawar said that while speeding up the power transmission lines, we should communicate with those opposing the work and start the work with police protection wherever necessary.

Bhatghar Substation Renovation, Bhugaon 132 KV extra high voltage substation should be taken up with new technology to work in less space. Khadakwasla, Diva Saswad (Purandar) site for 220 KV substation, 16 substations in Pune urban areas, underground channels, Chief Minister’s Solar Agriculture Channel Scheme 2.0, grid separation, proposed substation under RDSS scheme etc were also reviewed on this occasion.

Pawar also said that the demand of farmers should be taken into account under the revised distribution area scheme. The need for electricity in all talukas of the district should be considered. Under the Agriculture Policy 2020, quality work should be done, necessary funds will be made available for the same. Rs 100 crore will be provided for electricity facilities under the District Annual Plan.

The district administration and the municipal corporation should provide space for ultra-high-pressure substations in Pune city. The safety of employees should be given priority by using the latest technology while working at the sub-centre. Ajit Pawar said that Mahavitaran should submit a proposal for the creation of a new division in Haveli and Vadgaon Maval, for which cooperation will be provided.
