State govt suspends user fee levied by PCMC on property tax

Pune : The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) tax collection department has changed the computerized system of property tax bills after the state government suspended the user fee levied by the municipal corporation on the property holders. Therefore, the property owners will now be able to pay their basic property tax without paying the user fee.
Shekhar Singh, PCMC Commissioner said, “According to the order issued by the Urban Development Department of the State Government, the collection of user fees has been suspended. Accordingly, the computer system of the PCMC tax department has been changed.”
As per further information from the PCMC tax department, on December 20, the Urban Development Department of the State Government temporarily suspended the collection of user charges and ordered the PCMC to not collect user fees until a meeting was held with the Chief Minister in this regard. After that, Yashwant Dange, the Assistant Commissioner of the Health Department, gave instructions to the PCMC Tax Department to implement the government order.
After this, the PCMC tax department changed the computer system. Accordingly, the implementation of the user fee cancellation has begun in the online property tax bill of citizens from December 26. Therefore, Nilesh Deshmukh, Assistant Commissioner of PCMC Tax Department has appealed to the property owners to cooperate with the Municipal
Corporation by paying property tax.
