Industrial accidents and unfortunate deaths of workers have increased in Western Maharashtra and it has been observed that the death of women workers is significant and this is a matter of increasing concern and seriousness.

For this, a meeting was held at Tata Motors Chinchwad on February 22, 2024 at 11 am under the chairmanship of Devidas Gore, Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra to prevent these accidents in the factories and to take effective measures against them. .

As per further information shared by Dilip Batwal, Secretary, Federation of Chakan Industries, the meeting was attended by Additional Director of Industrial Safety and Sanitation Odule, Secretary Federation of Chakan Industries Dilip Batwal, Deputy Director Dish Sanjay Giri, Deputy Director Akhilesh Ghogre, Thackeray , Nikole, DGM (Safety) of Tata Company Rakesh Pandey, & heads of departments of 80 companies in Pimpri Chinchwad, Sanaswadi, Ranjangaon, Talegaon, Kurkumbh etc were present. The meeting was moderated by Rakesh Pandey.

At that time, Devidas Gore, Director Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra said that industrial safety equipment should be provided to workers while working to reduce industrial accidents. Fire-fighting arrangements in factories should be as per Section 71-B of the Factories Act and the concerned departmental authorities should ensure that workers should be provided with insurance cover, nurseries should be arranged in factories where more than 30 women workers are employed, if a factory is in hazardous category. If so, they should prepare a disaster management plan and submit it.

On this occasion, Odule, Additional Director of Industrial Safety and Industrial Directorate, said that to prevent these accidents, effective safety measures should be taken by every company as a matter of priority, as well as workers should be given insurance coverage and their welfare schemes. should be implemented in the factories as well as safety training programs should be conducted for the workers from time to time.

At that time, Dilip Batwal, secretary of the Federation of Chakan Industry, said that the security chiefs of many companies were present in this meeting. Each of these is responsible for the safety of workers. Therefore, in order to provide safety to all the workers, it is necessary to make the workers to follow the safety rules while working wholeheartedly and without fail and in terms of safety, it is very important for the workers in that department to use helmets, hand gloves, masks, glasses, safety shoes, jackets etc can be greatly reduced.

At the same time, it is necessary to inform the workers about all the facilities and tools in terms of safety. Also, it is the primary duty of every factory to inform the workers about all the plans for the welfare of the workers. It was urged that if there are any suggestions from the representatives of the companies for industrial safety, all the suggestions should be forwarded to the Director Industrial Safety and Health.

On this occasion, a safety song written by Devidas Gore, Director Industrial Safety and Health, Government of Maharashtra was presented, along with a safety song composed by Devidas Gore in English, it was presented and the meeting ended with tea.
