The Hinjawadi police are looking into a complaint from an IT professional who claims that two unidentified men got into a quarrel with him close to his workplace in Chande village, then forced him into an autorickshaw and drove him to Chinchwad.

The techie is a resident of Karvenagar who first reported the incident to the Chinchwad police. After that, he was instructed to go to the Paud police because they were in charge of the incident.

The Paud police filed a complaint on Wednesday, transferring it to the Hinjawadi police under sections 363 (kidnapping) and 392 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to a Hinjawadi police officer, the complainant was riding his scooter towards his office during his night shift when the incident occurred. Around 9 pm, he reached to Chande via Sus Road while driving, where he was forced to stop by two men in an autorickshaw, who then claimed that his scooter had collided with their car. They abused him. When they attempted to remove his scooter’s key, the latter became resistant.

The victim claimed that after forcing him to sit in the car, the two headed towards Hinjawadi. The two stole Rs 520 from his wallet en route. The victim saved himself by jumping out of the moving auto when the three-wheeler slowed down in Walhekarwadi.

The complainant claims that he hid behind a building until the two departed the area. Then he made a call to the Chinchwad police. When a police squad arrived, they told him to file a complaint with the Paud police.

The victim has given a description of the two robbers to the Hinjawadi police. But he failed to notice the auto rickshaw’s registration number. The case is being investigated by the police.
