Pune: Central Railways has completed the railway track doubling work at various sections on the Pune-Miraj route.

As per further information from Central Railways, Adarki-Wathar’s 10.10 km section doubling work was completed & commissioned for traffic on 31/10/23.

New track safe certification was given by Manoj Arora CRS (Commissioner of Railway Safety) with inspection conducted by Vivek Kumar Gupta, Chief Administrative Officer (construction), Indu Dubey, Divisional Railway Manager /Pune and Suresh Pakhare, Chief Engineer.

The Central Railway has completed 147.77 km multitracking (New line/doubling/3rd/4th line) in the current FY from April 2023 till date.

Rs 3886.95 crores planned by CR this year for new lines/doubling/3rd/4th line/gauge conversion. Rs 2983.47 crores expenditure done till date (76%).

Pune-Miraj doubling project:

Total Length – 279.05 km

Completed doubling – 184.95 km (66.27%)

Total Cost – Rs 4872.53 Crores

Expenditure to date – Rs 3241.06 Crores (66.51%)

Overall physical progress – 86%

Land Acquisition completed – 97.05 Hectares/115 Hectares (84.39%)

Completion of this doubling will improve the mobility of trains on the Pune-Miraj busy route & will reduce congestion.
