Vaccination center in Undri to start from April 20

Ever since the vaccination drive began in Pune city, residents of Undri had to go a long way to get themselves vaccinated.

But due the efforts of the local residents and social activists Rajendra Bhintade, Omkar Hole, Avinash Takle and Dadaso Manik Kad, Pune Municipal Corporation has now decided to start a vaccination center in the Zilla Parishad School in Undri. This vaccination center shall be a great boon for the residents of Undri, Pisoli, Autadewadi Wadachiwadi and other neighbouring areas too.

Rajendra Bhintade, a social activist from Undri said, “The first letter to PMC was written about a fortnight ago. PMC had manpower shortage as well as medical experts. But now due to continuous follow up we have been successful in starting a center here. Our local Corporator Ashwini Pokale’s efforts made it even more easy to start a center in Undri for the residents.”

Dadaso Manik Kad, another local activist said, “It was a big task to start a center here since our area does not have a government owned clinic / Hospital. But now the problem is resolved and we have been successful in starting it at the Undri’s Zilla Parishad School. The arrangements are made and the vaccination shall start from April 20,2021.”

Ashwini Pokale, local Corporator Prabhag 42 said, “The vaccination center would have started long ago but the civic authority did not have medical team to set up the center. This will be an easy access for many citizens living in Undri and also from nearby areas. Citizens can register on the app and also walk in at the center and get the help to register themselves for the vaccination from the volunteers who would be available at the center. The center shall begin vaccination program from April 20, 2021.”
