In a significant development, the Indian Railways is gearing up to introduce Vande Bharat sleeper trains by 2025, promising a travel time reduction of two hours compared to existing trains.

The modern interior designs of these trains are expected to enhance passenger comfort and provide a seamless, jerk-free experience.

The first prototype is set to be unveiled by March, with test runs scheduled for April. Operating on overnight routes, the Vande Bharat sleeper trains aim to connect major trunk routes like Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah by April. The trains will consist of 16 coaches, with a focus on delivering optimal comfort to passengers, featuring innovative design elements.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighted the transformative impact of these ‘Made in India’ trainsets on passenger experience and emphasized their potential for export. The manufacturing process involves collaboration between Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai and Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) factory in Bengaluru.

The new sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express is set to redefine train travel, offering improved amenities and efficient travel timings.
