Maharashtra State Railways Minister Raosaheb Danve assured that Vande Bharat train service will be started soon from Kolhapur.

The new Mahalakshmi Express (LHB Coach) train service running on the Kolhapur to Mumbai route was inaugurated by Danve by showing the green flag from Mumbai through audio visual medium. The ceremony was held at the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Terminus. MP Dhananjay Mahadik, Dhairyasheel Mane, Sanjay Mandalik, Guardian Minister Hasan Mushrif, Divisional Manager Indu Dubey were present.

Danve said that the DPR has been prepared for the eight-kilometre road survey from Hatkanangle to Ichalkaranji. The work will also start soon.

MP Dhananjay Mahadik said that the three MPs jointly followed up on various railway issues. Taking cognizance of this, Railway Minister Danve started the Mahalakshmi Express service in a new form. Other demands of the interests of railway passengers have been taken into consideration. It has been promised to start Vande Bharat within two months which will boost the development of the district. Sahyadri Express is expected to start till Mumbai.

MP Sanjay Mandalik requested the Railway Minister to start the Kolhapur to Ayodhya Express train so that Kolhapur citizens can visit the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Meanwhile, the lift at the railway station was also inaugurated on this occasion.
