Vedanta society holds seminar health awareness

The covid pandemic has affected many lives. Due to covid situation many residents have to do work from home job which lacked the physical activity among us. This has affected physical and mental health of people. People are facing medical issues like, diabetes, sugar, heart attack, etc. Keeping this issue in mind the management Committee of Vedanta CHS Wakad had organized a seminar on health awareness. The chairman of the society Somnath Dhonde along with Dr. Chandrakant Kanase, MD (Gold Medalist), Internal Medicine organized the event for the residents of the society on the theme ‘Myths and Life Hacks for Reversing Diabetes Type 2 disease’.

Dr Chandrakant Kanase is a renowned name in this field. He has extensively worked in the field to break the myth “Diabetes is a non-reversible disease”.  Dr. Kanase made an interesting presentation covering various reasons leading to diabetes, healthy food habits and simple exercises that people can follow, not only keep the diabetes at bay, but also, he guided on ‘how to recover it’. He also busted various myths surrounding the disease. For the event former corporator Vinayak Gaikwad, Viju Jagtap, Vedanta societies managing committee and many other dignitaries were present.

“The session was very enlightening for the residents. We conducted the session looking towards the health concerns of children and residents specially IT residents. We got good response for this. The Committee is always committed to drive such initiatives for the overall wellbeing of the residents, and we are thankful to Dr.Kanse, that he guided us in a very nice way,” said Somnath Dhonde, Chairman, Vedanta Society.
