The incident shared by passenger Tulika Jain has triggered fresh concerns over women’s safety in Mumbai local trains after railway helpline and emergency systems allegedly failed during the crisis.

A shocking incident inside a Mumbai local train has sparked outrage online after a man allegedly forcefully entered a women’s compartment and behaved aggressively with female passengers during the journey. The incident reportedly took place between Bandra and King’s Circle stations and was shared on social media by a passenger named Tulika Jain.

According to the details shared by Tulika Jain, the man entered the ladies compartment after the train reached Bandra station. Women passengers immediately objected and repeatedly asked him to get down. Male passengers from the adjacent general compartment also shouted at him to leave the coach, but he allegedly refused to move out.

Instead, the man reportedly became aggressive and started arguing loudly with the women passengers inside the compartment.

Tulika Jain stated that the women were left frightened by the situation and attempted to seek immediate help from railway authorities. However, according to her post, the railway helpline number 1512 did not respond during the emergency.

The women passengers then reportedly tried to use the emergency talkback system installed inside the coach, but claimed that it was switched off and completely non-functional.

The situation allegedly worsened when the train reached King’s Circle station. The man reportedly turned violent while trying to escape and pushed one of the women passengers forcefully inside the coach.

Sharing the viral video online, Tulika Jain raised serious concerns over women’s safety in Mumbai local trains and questioned the effectiveness of railway security systems.

“This is very scary and dangerous. It’s okay that there were a lot of women in the compartment at this time, but what would have happened if there were only two or three women?” she wrote in her post.

She further added, “This failure of security measures could lead to a major crime tomorrow. Mumbai Police please pay attention to this immediately and take action.”

The viral video has triggered strong reactions on social media, with many users demanding strict action against the accused man and better security arrangements in women’s compartments of Mumbai locals.

The incident has once again brought attention to concerns surrounding passenger safety, emergency response systems and the functioning of helpline services in Mumbai’s suburban railway network, often referred to as the city’s lifeline.
