Congress Party’s state Vice-President, Mohan Joshi has started an initiative ‘Wake Up Pune.’ The 15-day campaign which started on 5th February 2024 will come to an end on 20th February 2024. The initiative aims to reduce traffic in all the areas of Pune City and eventually end it, said Mohan Joshi.

This campaign will cover all the areas of Pune except for Hadapsar and Khadakwasla.

The volunteers of Wake Up Pune and other NGOs have collaborated to put an end to the absurd situation of traffic in Pune. It is being done by distributing pocket-friendly QR scanners.

The people can scan the scanner which will take them to the portal where they can register their complaints regarding the traffic and the problems faced by them and at the same time they can also provide remedies to solve the current situation.

Mohan, in the interview, mentioned, “I challenge the authorities of Pune as they have not done any work to reduce the traffic situation. It should not come to this stage where people need to start a campaign to resolve issues in a developing city like Pune.”

The campaign started at Vimannagar at 6:00 PM On February 5th.

One of the commuters said ” I avoid peak hours when I am travelling in this area. I start from my office a little late from Dhole Patil Road a little late so that I do not have to face the traffic.”

“If this campaign does not do the needed, I have long-term plans to conquer the issue of traffic in Pune,” concluded Mohan.
