Watch: MNS Activists Attack Uddhav Thackeray’s Car with Dung in Thane
Thane: In a shocking incident today, activists from the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) allegedly attacked the convoy of Uddhav Thackeray, leader of the Thackeray faction, ahead of his scheduled ‘Saffron Week Gathering’ in Thane. The convoy was targeted with dung, bangles, and tomatoes as it passed through the city.
The incident occurred just days after a similar attack on MNS chief Raj Thackeray’s convoy, where betel nuts were hurled at his vehicle in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Today’s attack is seen as an escalation of the ongoing tensions between the Thackeray and MNS factions.
According to reports, MNS activists also threw balloons at Uddhav Thackeray’s car, further heightening the security concerns around the event. The attack took place as Uddhav Thackeray was en route to Gadkari Rangayatan in Thane, where he is scheduled to address a rally later today.
The situation at the rally venue has grown tense, with MNS militants reportedly entering the gathering site and causing disruption. Police have intervened and are currently detaining those involved in the unrest.
In another provocation, MNS members placed betel nuts under the tires of Uddhav Thackeray’s vehicle, reminiscent of the earlier incident involving Raj Thackeray.
Security has been tightened around the rally as authorities work to prevent further disruptions. The incident underscores the escalating rivalry between the two factions as political tensions continue to rise in Maharashtra.
