The water supply for the whole of Baner and Balewadi areas would remain closed till 4th October due to leakage in water pipeline in Warje.

Speaking to Pune Pulse, Amol Balwadkar, Ex Corporator, Baner-Balewadi-Pashan, said “The water pipeline at Warje is leaking continuously since 3rd October (Tuesday). Hence, due to major water pipe line leakage, there will be no water supply in entire Baner, Balewadi area.”

Ameya Jagtap, Member of Balewadi Welfare Federation, said “The water pipeline laid at Warje of the 24×7 water supplies water from Pashan pumping station to the entire Baner & Balewadi areas. The repair work of that water pipeline at Warje is going on. Hence, the water supply is closed for both the areas since 3rd October (Tuesday).”

“For whatever reasons like developing cracks, pipeline breaking etc, the water supply is closed. The PMC has started repair work of the pipeline. However, due to such unplanned incident, this will be problematic where residents will be inconvenienced. But it doesn’t seem like the pipeline has been damaged by anyone purposefully. Hopefully, till 4th October (Wednesday), the pipeline will get repaired & water supply would begin again,” Jagtap added.
