Maharashtra: As winter approaches its final phase, Maharashtra is witnessing a noticeable shift in weather conditions. The chill is gradually easing across the state, with minimum temperatures on a slow rise, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said. In several regions, early morning fog or partly cloudy skies may be observed.

According to the IMD forecast, weather conditions across Maharashtra on January 23, 2026, are expected to remain largely dry and stable. While cold conditions are weakening, daytime temperatures are likely to feel slightly warmer, indicating a transition towards the end of winter.

Konkan Region:
Mumbai and other Konkan districts, including Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, will experience mainly dry weather. The sky is expected to remain clear to partly cloudy, with light morning fog in some areas. Maximum temperatures will range between 24°C and 28°C, while minimum temperatures are likely to stay between 18°C and 23°C. No rainfall is forecast.

Western Maharashtra:
Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur are expected to witness dry and sunny conditions throughout the day. With minimum temperatures gradually increasing, the intensity of cold will reduce. Maximum temperatures may range from 28°C to 32°C, while minimum temperatures will hover between 14°C and 18°C.

North Maharashtra:
Districts such as Nashik, Dhule, Jalgaon and Nandurbar will also see dry weather conditions. Temperatures are likely to remain slightly above normal. Maximum temperatures will range between 28°C and 30°C, and minimum temperatures between 14°C and 18°C. Light fog or haze may occur during the morning hours, followed by clear and sunny weather during the day.

Marathwada:
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, along with Jalna, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani and Dharashiv, will continue to experience dry and stable weather. Maximum temperatures are expected between 28°C and 31°C, while minimum temperatures will range from 13°C to 17°C. Cold conditions are easing, and there is no chance of rainfall.

Vidarbha:
Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli and Wardha will also record dry weather. Maximum temperatures may range from 29°C to 32°C, while minimum temperatures will stay between 14°C and 18°C. Light morning fog is possible in a few areas, but warmer conditions are likely to be felt during the day.

Overall Outlook:
There is no indication of rainy or unstable weather across Maharashtra on January 23. The state is expected to experience typical end-of-winter conditions, with dry weather and gradually rising temperatures. Morning fog or haze may reduce visibility in some areas, and commuters are advised to exercise caution while travelling.
